**1. What is a Claude Skill?**

A **skill** is a packaged set of instructions that teaches Claude how Madrivo does a specific job: our brand, our templates, our BD positioning, our wiki format. Without a skill, Claude does a task in a generic way. With one, it does it the Madrivo way every time, no matter who asks.

One way to think about it: Claude is a capable new hire, and a skill is the playbook their manager hands them for a task. The skill holds:

- **The steps** Claude follows, in order
- **The rules** it must keep (brand colors, "never send, only draft," "never invent numbers")
- **The reference files** it works from (the official pitch deck template, the brand palette, flowchart templates)
- **The checks** it runs before handing the work back

**2. Where do Skills come from?**

Madrivo's skills are set up on our **Claude Team plan** and are available to everyone on it. You don't need to install anything. When you're signed in to Claude with your Madrivo account, the skills are already there.

| Type | Examples | Who maintains them |
| --- | --- | --- |
| **Madrivo skills** | MadDecks, PitchDecks, MadWikis, Branding Email Template | Madrivo, through the AI Innovation Lab |
| **Built-in Claude skills** | Word, Excel, PowerPoint and PDF file handling | Anthropic |

This guide covers the Madrivo skills. Built-in skills work in the background whenever you ask Claude for one of those file types.

**3. How to Run a Skill**

You can run a skill in two ways.

**1. Just ask (most common).** Every skill has trigger phrases. When your request matches one, Claude loads the skill on its own. You don't have to name it.

```
Build a pitch deck for Acme Insurance using the Madrivo template
```

→ Claude loads **PitchDecks**.

```
Write a wiki article on how we onboard a new publisher
```

→ Claude loads **MadWikis**.

**2. Call it by name.** Type `/` followed by the skill name to be sure you get that skill:

```
/madwikis reformat this doc into our wiki format /maddecks 10-slide internal deck on Q3 email results, Immersive style
```

> **Watch out:** if two skills could fit, naming the one you want avoids the wrong result. The most common mix-up is **MadDecks vs. PitchDecks** (see section 6).

```
4. Giving a Skill What It Needs
```

Skills produce better work when they start with the right material. Before you run one, have ready:

| Give Claude | Why |
| --- | --- |
| **The source material:** the email thread, notes, data, a URL, a doc | Skills are built to work from real inputs, not guesses |
| **Who it's for** | Changes tone, depth and which template is used |
| **What should happen next** | Shapes the ask, the CTA or the next-steps slide |
| **The format** (HTML, PowerPoint, PDF, Excel) | Some skills default to one format. Say so if you need another. |

If something important is missing, the skill asks one or two quick questions before it starts. Answer them and it carries on.

```
5. Reviewing What a Skill Produces
```

**You're responsible for everything a skill produces before it goes out.** Skills are built so nothing reaches a client, partner or teammate without a person checking it first:

- **Emails are saved as drafts.** Claude never sends them.
- **Decks, workbooks and flowcharts are delivered as files** for you to open and check.
- **No invented facts.** Skills are told never to make up numbers, rates, client names or results. If something looks off, ask Claude where it came from.

Review checklist:

- \[ \] Names, companies and numbers are right
- \[ \] It says what you'd actually say, in the right tone
- \[ \] Nothing sensitive or client-confidential is going to the wrong audience
- \[ \] Links and attachments point to the right place

```
6. Picking the Right Skill
```

| I want to… | Use |
| --- | --- |
| Make anything look on-brand | **Madrivo Brand** |
| Reply to a brand that wants a CPA / commission deal | **Branding Email Template** |
| Send a polished, branded standalone email | **Madrivo Gmail HTML Builder** |
| Build an internal or creative deck | **MadDecks** |
| Build a client-facing pitch, proposal or QBR deck | **PitchDecks** |
| Write or clean up a wiki article | **MadWikis** |
| Diagram how a system, workflow or AI agent works | **MadMaps** |
| Research a brand before we pitch them | **New Brand Discovery** |

> **Watch out, two pairs that get confused:**
>
> - **Branding Email Template vs. Gmail HTML Builder:** partnership replies go out as **plain text in the existing thread**. The branded HTML shell is only for standalone emails such as announcements, updates and recaps.
> - **MadDecks vs. PitchDecks:** anything going to a client uses **PitchDecks**, which copies the official 2026 template exactly. MadDecks designs freely and is meant for internal use.

```
7. Madrivo Skill Library
```

Each skill has its own wiki article with the full details: how to run it, what it needs, what you get and how to troubleshoot it.

### Brand and Design

| Skill | What it does |
| --- | --- |
| **Madrivo Brand** | Holds Madrivo's official palette, color-family themes and Inter Tight / Inter type scale, and applies them to anything visual Claude builds. |
| **MadMaps** | Turns a system, pipeline or AI agent workflow into an interactive HTML flowchart: plain-English labels on the surface, developer detail in a click-to-open drawer. |

### Presentations

| Skill | What it does |
| --- | --- |
| **MadDecks** | Builds on-brand internal and creative decks from a brief, in HTML, PowerPoint or PDF, with four style presets and a 13-slide library. |
| **PitchDecks** | Builds client pitch, proposal, media plan and QBR decks by copying slides from the official 2026 Madrivo Pitch Deck Template, so they match the approved design exactly. |

### Email

| Skill | What it does |
| --- | --- |
| **Branding Email Template** | Drafts the BD reply to brands and networks asking for CPA or revshare deals, positioning Madrivo as a media network on CPM / CPC / CPL, saved as a Gmail draft in the thread. |
| **Madrivo Gmail HTML Builder** | Wraps standalone emails (announcements, outreach, updates, recaps) in Madrivo's branded HTML so they display correctly in Gmail, saved as drafts. |

### Research and Documentation

| Skill | What it does |
| --- | --- |
| **New Brand Discovery** | Researches a brand from the live public web across nine evidence sections, checks whether it's already a client, and delivers a sourced Excel workbook with a Madrivo angle. |
| **MadWikis** | Writes or reformats internal wiki articles in the house format: title, 250-character subheading, Systems Needed, table of contents, body and article details. |

```
8. Tips for Better Results
```

- **Paste or link the real thing.** An actual email thread, data export or current doc beats a summary from memory.
- **Be specific about the audience.** "For a life-insurance CMO who's never heard of us" gets a much better result than "for a client."
- **Ask for changes, don't start over.** Say "shorter," "swap the cover," "make the second bullet about repeat purchases" and Claude edits what it built.
- **Check against the source, not your memory.** Skills work from live data. If they disagree with what you remember, check before you override.
- **Use skills together.** Run New Brand Discovery first, then build the PitchDecks deck from what it found. Or write a MadWikis article and add a MadMaps diagram.

```
9. Troubleshooting
```

| Symptom | What's actually happening |
| --- | --- |
| Claude did the task but didn't follow Madrivo's format | Your request didn't match the skill's trigger phrases. Run it again with `/skillname`. |
| The wrong skill ran | Two skills overlap (see section 6). Name the one you want. |
| The email wasn't sent | Intended. Skills only create drafts. Open Gmail Drafts to review and send. |
| No signature on the email draft | Intended. Gmail adds your own signature when you send. |
| Claude asked questions before starting | The skill needs that information to get it right. Answer and it continues. |
| Fonts look wrong in a deck | Inter Tight / Inter aren't installed on that computer. Both are free on Google Fonts. |
| Claude stopped partway through New Brand Discovery | It found that the brand is already a client or has a HubSpot owner. You decide the next step. |
| A skill isn't available to you | Make sure you're signed in to Claude with your Madrivo account on the Team plan. |

```
10. Requesting a New Skill or a Change
```

If there's a task you or your team do over and over, and it has to be done the Madrivo way every time, it's a good candidate for a skill. Submit the idea to the **AI Innovation Lab** with:

- The task and who does it
- How often it happens
- An example of a good finished result
- The tools involved (HubSpot, Gmail, Everflow, ClickUp and so on)

To report something a skill got wrong or suggest an improvement, contact the Article Owner below with an example of the output.
